Role Overview

CFB Holding Ltd is looking for a Junior Accountant to join the team and support the financial operations of the company. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Junior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with local financial regulations, and providing insights into financial decision-making. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience, be fluent in English, and possess working knowledge of French. 

Responsibilities

    • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial statements. 
    • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements, for review by the CFO. 
    • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payments, invoices, and financial transactions. 
    • Assist in the preparation of the company’s annual budget and financial forecasts, providing analysis and insights to support strategic planning. 
    • Monitor and control expenses to ensure adherence to the budget, providing recommendations to the CFO as needed. 
    • Ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations, including the preparation and submission of tax returns. 
    • Process payroll, ensuring accuracy in employee compensation, benefits, and tax deductions. 
    • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and manage cash flow, ensuring the company maintains adequate liquidity. 
    • Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits, providing necessary documentation and supporting the audit process. 
    • Assist the CFO in developing and implementing financial policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance. 
    • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and financial regulations, ensuring the company remains compliant. 

Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 
    • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience. 
    • Fluency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of French is a plus. 
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards in Cameroon. 
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Excel skills. 
    • Excellent attention to detail, organizational abilities, and time management skills. 
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. 
    • Experience in payroll management, tax compliance, and working with external auditors. 
    • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and handle multiple tasks. 

Language Requirements

    • Very fluent in English (both written and spoken).
    • Knowledge of French is considered an added advantage.
    • Other of other languages are welcomed.
